The Bonaire Animal Shelter is partially supported by the government of Bonaire. However, most of the operating budget depends on the contributions from businesses and people like yourself.

Support Bonaire provides a way for Americans to donate to their favorite Bonaire causes and claim charitable deduction on their American income tax. The Support Bonaire Web site now accepts credit card donations for the Bonaire Animal Shelter.

Of course, cash donations are always appreciated. Look for the dog house donation boxes in many shops and businesses or on the shelter on Bonaire.

Monetary donations can be made via Bank transfer to Maduro & Curiel’s Bank account #102.378.00 or RBTT Bank account #23.10.139.

And since the beginning of this month, the Animal Shelter also has a bank acoount in Holland. So Dutch people pleas help us and  make a monatary donation in Euro’s via Bank transfer to Rabobank te Dongen on account 1377.48.744

Unwanted Animal Drop-off

People may now drop off unwanted, stray or found cats or dogs at the Shelter at any time of the day or night.

This new animal cage (Kouchi pa Bestia), outside the gate to the Shelter, has two separate compartments with water bowls and it’s checked every few hours during the day.

Hopefully, people will put their unwanted animals in the cage rather than dumping them in the mondi or by the side of the road. The Shelter receives an average of 1,200 animals each year.

Thanks to Valerie’s Airport shop for providing the materials and to the Shelter staff and volunteers who provided the labor to build the cage. As of last week, nine dogs and one cat had been put in the cage. ”
