About us
At Animal Shelter Bonaire, it’s all about wagging tails, purring cats, and second chances. We take in dogs and cats who are roaming the streets, can no longer stay in their homes, or simply need a little extra love. Our goal? To help as many animals as possible find a warm home and a bright future.
At the moment, we provide a safe home for around 165 dogs and 70 cats. We do this with a small, dedicated team and an amazing group of volunteers who work tirelessly every single day for our animals. But we look beyond just sheltering—we also tackle overpopulation through our sterilization program, so fewer animals end up in need in the future.
Animal Shelter Bonaire receives a small government subsidy but relies mostly on donations. Thanks to the support of animal lovers, we can continue doing what we care about most: helping the animals who need it most.
