Animal Shelter Bonaire runs with a small team of paid staff, but is largely supported by an amazing group of volunteers. Without them, we simply wouldn’t exist. Whether it’s caring for the animals, running our Pakus di Pruga thrift shop, or helping out at events – every contribution makes a difference.

Shelter volunteer
Help out with the daily care of our dogs and cats. Whether you love cuddling, feeding, cleaning, or walking, your efforts make a real difference for our animals. You’ll be working alongside a fantastic team of fellow animal lovers!
Pakus di Pruga
Pakus di Pruga is our secondhand market (held every Saturday), with all proceeds going directly to the shelter.
Help us by setting up the market or picking up heavy items from donors.
Cruisemarket
At the Cruise Market, we run a stall filled with great items, and 100% of the proceeds go to the shelter. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy selling goods, collecting donations, and sharing stories about our work.
A day at the shelter
Every day at the shelter starts early. The dogs and cats get fresh water and food, their enclosures are cleaned, and they receive the care and attention they need. Volunteers take the dogs for walks, play with the cats, and assist with medical treatments or adoption meetings. Food and medication supplies are restocked, animals with special needs receive extra care, and we make sure everything stays clean and safe.
