Board Member
Animal Shelter Bonaire keeps growing. And while that’s great news for the dogs and cats of Bonaire, it also means our organisation is becoming more complex. To support that growth, we’re expanding our board. We’re looking for engaged, hands on people who want to help shape the future of the shelter.
As a board member you help guide Animal Shelter Bonaire on a strategic and practical level. You contribute your skills, experience and ideas to ongoing and future projects and help ensure the shelter can continue to operate in a professional and sustainable way. This is a volunteer position with real responsibility and visible impact.
What will you do?
Depending on your background and interests, you may be involved in one or more of the following areas:
- Public relations and communication
- Event planning and organisation
- Fundraising and sponsorships

The board meets once a month. Outside of meetings, you work independently on your tasks at times that suit you.
What do we expect from you?
- You care deeply about animal welfare.
- You enjoy thinking strategically and taking responsibility.
- You work independently but value collaboration.
- You’re motivated to contribute your skills and experience to the shelter.
What do you get from us?

- The opportunity to make a lasting difference for dogs and cats on Bonaire.
- Flexibility to shape your role around your strengths and availability.
-
An organisation that takes its work seriously while staying human, energetic and down to earth.
