Want to do something fun and make a dog really happy? Come take one of our shelter dogs for a walk! A walk means a moment outside the shelter, some fresh air, and one-on-one attention for them. For you, it’s a great chance to spend time with a cheerful four-legged friend and enjoy the natural beauty of Bonaire.

You’re welcome during our opening hours. Just send us a message beforehand, so we can make sure there’s a dog ready to go who’ll enjoy it just as much as you do.
Good to know before you head out
Where can you walk on Bonaire?
Not everywhere. On many beaches, dogs are not allowed, even on a leash. Always check the signs.
You can walk between Punt Vierkant and the Salt Pier, and between Willemstoren and Sorobon, along the coastline. There are also plenty of other quiet spots on the island where you can enjoy a relaxed walk.
What should you bring?
Water. With the sun and the movement, dogs get thirsty more quickly, so make sure to bring some along.
And maybe a few tasty treats for along the way.
Heading into town or stopping for a coffee?
Some dogs absolutely love it. Others might feel a bit overwhelmed after a few minutes.
Not sure? Just ask us. We know exactly which dogs will enjoy it and which ones prefer a quieter walk.
Can I let the dog off the leash?
No. Our dogs must stay on a leash. This keeps them safe and prevents them from getting startled or running off. They’ll enjoy the walk just as much on a leash.

Stop by Luciano’s or Gio’s and grab a small cup of whipped cream. Big chance you’ll have a very happy dog!
