On Bonaire, we look out for our animals together. Whether you come across a stray dog, see an injured bird, or are struggling to care for your own pet – there are clear steps you can take. This page explains what to do in different situations so we can make a real difference together.
Spotted a stray animal?
If you see an animal that looks lost but isn’t in immediate danger:

Note the location and time

Post the info in the Pet Alert Bonaire Facebook group
This group is the main platform for reporting missing and found animals on the island. It’s a great way to help reunite pets with their owners.
Animal in distress or suspected neglect
If you come across an injured animal, or suspect abuse or severe neglect, please contact:

They are responsible for emergency response, rescues, and enforcement of animal welfare laws.
